Zhang Xiaosong, Director General of Shanghai FAO visited Confucius Institute at Bogazici University

        On April 18, 2018, Zhang Xiaosong, Director General of Foreign Affairs Office (FAO) of the Shanghai Municipal People's Government visited Bogazici University(BU) and held talks with Ali İ. Tekcan, Deputy Dean of Bogazici University, accompanied by Chen Su, the Deputy Consul General in Istanbul. Dr. Li Wenhong, the Chinese Director of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University (CIBU), and Consul Zhu Xiufeng participated in the talks. Professor Ali welcomed the visit of Foreign Affairs Office and conducted specific discussions on the cooperation between Bogazici University and Shanghai Foreign Affairs Office. In addition, the two sides hope to maintain exchanges and communication with long-term friendly cooperation relying on the platform of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University.        Afterwards, Director General Zhang Xiaosong and his delegation visited CIBU. Dr. Li Wenhong accompanied them to visit the offices, library and classroom. Director Li introduced the development of CIBU, Chinese language teaching and various cultural activities. Director Zhang Xiaosong learned in depth the operation mechanism and teaching mode of CIBU. He expressed his recognition of the work done by CIBU as a cultural exchange bridge between China and Turkey.
