Shanghai University -"2013 Outstanding Chinese Partner of Confucius Institutes"

On December 7, 2013, Shanghai University was awarded “2013 Outstanding Chinese Partner of Confucius Institute” in the 8th Confucius Institute Conference, as one of the ten higher education institutions wining this honor. Mdm Liu Yandong, China’s Vice Premier and Chairperson of Council of the Confucius Institute Headquaters, presented the medal to Prof.Yu Xinhui, President of Shanghai University. Since 2006, Shanghai University had established four Confucius Institutes around the globe, with the cooperation of Prince of Songkla Univerisity in Tailand, Univeristy College Cork in Ireland, Bogazici University in Turkey and University of Kentucky in the United States. All the four Confucius Institutes operated well in Chinese language teaching, cultural activities, and academic communications, and won the award of “Confucius Institute of the Year” successively. A member of this alliance, Confucius Institute at Bogazici University had a good achivement during the past four years, and was awarded “Confucius Institute of 2012”. CIBU staffs shared the honor of Shanghai University this year, and expressed heartedly congratulations.
