Mr. Cui Wei, Chinese Consul General in Istanbul Visited Bogazici University

      On April 13, 2018, Mr. Cui Wei, Chinese Consul General in Istanbul visited Bogazici University and met with Prof. Mehmed Özkan, President of Bogazici University. He also visited the Confucius Institute at Bogazici University and received a warm welcome from teachers and students.       During the meeting, Professor Özkan stated that since the establishment of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University, relying on this platform, Bogazici University and Shanghai University have conducted fruitful cooperation, especially in the international academic field, and they hope to continue to maintain in the future, and look forward to new breakthrough. Consul General Cui Wei pointed out that the diplomacy between China and Turkey has entered a promising period.       At the Confucius Institute at Bogazici University, Consul General Cui came to the classroom to observe the Chinese classes. He also had a friendly exchange with the students in the Confucius library and learned that students came from different professional backgrounds such as social sciences and science and engineering. He encouraged students to learn Chinese well and make contributions to China-Turkmenistan economic and trade exchanges in related professional fields.     Consul Cao Ying and Consul Attaché Hu Yuzhe were accompanying the visit. Prof. Gong Siyi, Deputy Dean of Shanghai University, Prof. Ali Tekcan, Deputy Dean of Bogazici University, and Professor Yao Ximing, Dean of School of International Exchange of Shanghai University and Director of the Confucius Institute Office, Dr. Ni Lan, Deputy Director of the International Affairs Division of Shanghai University, Prof. Arzu Öztürkmen and Dr. Li Wenhong, Turkish and Chinese Directors of the Confucius Institute attended the relevant activity.
