Hale Eroğlu

Turkish Director

Dr. Eroglu got her BA from Middle East Technical University, MA from Bogazici University and Ph.D from Harvard University. She studied Chinese at Shenzhen University. Her research and teaching focus on Modern Chinese History, transnational history, and religion and ethnicity with a specific focus on the Hui. Her recent article is titled: “A Place under the Sun: Chinese Muslim (Hui) Identity and the Constitutional Movement in Republican China.” She is now working on her first book project titled “Islam in Translation: Chinese Muslims and Transnational Intellectual Networks in Modern China, 1908-1957”.
