2024 China-Turkiye Forum

On September 21, the Confucius Institute at Boğaziçi University, together with the School of Environmental and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai University and the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Boğaziçi University, successfully held the "Environment, Human Health and Sustainable Development" - 2024 China-Turkiye Forum. The forum aims to actively respond to severe challenges such as global warming and the rampant plague, promote in-depth exchanges and results transformation in cutting-edge research, and promote international cooperation and development.

Professor Turgut Onay was the first to deliver a wonderful report entitled Micro-plastic Removal Efficiency of a Wastewater Treatment Plan: A Case Study; Professor Cheng Ping from the School of Environmental Chemical Engineering of Shanghai University gave a report on the topic of Smog Chamber Simulation Studies of the Formation of Secondary Organic Aerosols . In addition, Professor Melek Saçan from the Institute of Environmental Sciences of Boğaziçi University, Associate Professor Wang Shunyao from the Institute of Environmental Pollution and Health of Shanghai University, and Associate Researchers Li Ruifei and Tan Jiani from the Institute of Environmental Pollution and Health of Shanghai University successively introduced the latest progress in their respective research fields, bringing a rich academic feast to the participants.

This forum not only brought together many senior experts and scholars, but also invited many young and middle-aged scholars to share their research results, showing the vigorous vitality and innovative spirit of the academic community. At the report site, the teachers and students present actively asked questions, the discussion was heated, the atmosphere was active, and the academic atmosphere was strong.

The successful holding of the forum not only demonstrated the latest research results of China and Turkiye in the field of environmental health and sustainable development, but also built a valuable exchange platform for the academic circles of the two countries.
