Celebration of Prof. Selcuk Esenbel’s Retirement

December 2, 2013, a celebration of Prof. Selcuk Esenbel’s retirement was held at Bogazici University; all CIBU staffs attended this party. A well-known scholar of history, Prof. Esenbel initiated the Asian studies program and is the founding director of Confucius Institute at Bogazici University. Dr. Yi Liu handed flowers and precious gifts on behalf of Confucius Institute, and extended the greetings from Shanghai University, as well as the two former Chinese Directors of CIBU. After retirement from the position of Turkish Director, Prof. Esenbel will continue her participation at Confucius Institution as an advisor. Dr. Liu and CI staffs also took this opportunity to meet the Rector, Provost, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Director of History Department, Director of the Asian Studies Center, etc.
