A new work on religion and global politics, Dr. Yi Liu’s Globalization, Public Religions, and Secularism: A Comparative Study of Christianity and Islam was published at Shanghai People’s press in January 2014. An update of Religion and Politics in a Global Context (Shanghai 2011), this monograph hopes to provide a comprehensive picture of religions in public sphere, via the triangle framework of globalization, public religions and secularism. With new arguments on the political and social dimensions of religious fundamentalism, this book also describes civil Islam/ moderate Muslims and Pentecostal-Charismatic Christianity as relevant topics. An additional discussion is about religion and secularism in modern China.
