Students from Confucius Institute at Bogazici University Performed Well in the 17th “Chinese Bridge” Competition

     On April 28, 2018, the 17th “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students in Turkey was successfully held at Yeditepe University. Students from Confucius Institute at Bogazici University (CIBU) actively participated. Yağmur Türker won the third prize with excellent performance.      The competition was hosted by the Chinese Embassy in Turkey, the Chinese Consulate General in Istanbul, held by Yeditepe University, the Confucius Institute at Yeditepe University, sponsored by Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited (Turkey), and Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd (Turkey), co-organized by Eurasia International Travel Agency, with 52 college students from four Confucius Institutes in Turkey and universities with Chinese major participated in the competition. There are three sections in the competition: "Written Test", "Keynote Speech" and "Talent Show". In the written test part, the four from CIBU have made solid preparations and all qualify for the finals. All of them also have wonderful performances in the speech and talent show parts respectively.       In the “Chinese Bridge” competition, the Confucius Institute was led by the Chinese Director Dr. Li Wenhong. The Chinese teacher, Zheng Dan, not only served as one of the judges, but also worked with volunteers to train students. By attending this wonderful competition with so may excellent performances of other students, students from CIBU benefited a lot. As the first Confucius Institute established in Istanbul, CIBU will continue to serve as the bridges for Chinese lovers to learn Chinese and understand China.
